The Enmark Savannah River Bridge Run is an annual event attracting thousands of participants, race enthusiasts and thrill-seekers from coastal Georgia and all across the U.S. each year. The Bridge Run gives participants the chance to conquer Savannah’s Talmadge Bridge, a 1.4-mile span at a 5.5% grade, 196 feet above the Savannah River, on foot. With races, awards and a fun after-race party with food, refreshments and music, the Enmark Savannah River Bridge Run has something for everyone. It features the 5K Run/Walk, a 10K Run, a Double-Pump Race, a Team Challenge, the Double-Pump Team Challenge and a 1/4 mile Kids Run.
Friends, family, fans and race spectators are invited to join us as we cheer on the Bridge Run participants in downtown Savannah on Saturday, December 4. The 10K Race will start at 9:00 a.m., the Life Stats 5K Race starts at 8:15 a.m. and the 1/4 mile Kids Run starts at 8:00 a.m. The 5K Race begins across the Savannah River on Hutchinson Island and ends in front of the Savannah Civic Center. Living history interpreters lead participants on a 50-minute experience throughout the historic site as voyeurs facing the frightful time of pestilence when the city was stricken by an epidemic of unknown cause but what we now know as mosquito-borne yellow fever. Performers will convey the fear, apprehension and ambivalence that characterized those who witnessed the deadly disease. Reservations recommended.
Not appropriate for children under eight years of age. The performance requires that guests be able to walk up and down stairs and maneuver in the candlelit rooms.
